Hit and run by a company truck?

I was involved in a hit and run accident by a company truck. My car was totaled. I wasn't injured. I had a witness who followed the guy, took down the license plate number and the name of the company. All this information was given to the police. My insurance payed off the rest of my loan on the car but I only have a few thousand $$ dollars to use as a down payment to try and get another car. I'm still waiting for the police report. My question is, after all is said and done, can I sue the company for any kind of financial settlement for having to go through all of this crap and having to get another car because of their irresponsible driver??
