What should I do with the money I make?

I have a summer job working at a farm. I am 17 and going to be a senior next year. I will make probably a little over $3,000 by the fall. So what should I do with the money. I hate spending my moms money so i think i should at least pay for when i go out with my friends, clothes, and whatever else small. So then alls she has to buy for me is food and car insurance. OR should i save it and put it in the bank? I am not to worried about not having my own money for when I go to college cause i got in a car accident last summer so when I turn 18, I will get a settlement. My medical bills easily passed 40k so i should get a decent amount. So what do ya think?
